History

 

Renaissance Farm, located in Bulls Gap, Tennessee has earned its name in many ways. After visiting the Tennessee Valley in 2003, the Blackstone Family became enamored with this rural area, its breathtaking views, untouched in many ways by time, and made the bold decision to move family and farm from New England. The daunting task of relocating with three children, horses, cats, dogs, etc. was the easy part.

 

 

In 2004, the 140 acre historic farm was purchased which was in desperate need of a renaissance of it's own. The colossal renovation began on the 1904 farm house, barn, and out buildings.

David Blackstone, owner of Blackstone Construction is no stranger to renovations, and construction projects, with more than 25 years in business in New England. David brainstormed and oversaw the massive renovation.

The 1904 Victorian farmhouse was fully restored, updated and expanded to accommodate the family and guests

In 2006 construction was completed on the new barn, arena, pasture fencing, and run in sheds. A large pond was created to house the farms geothermal energy source
